Winlink in BPQ

It is possible to route messages bidirectionally between BPQ and Winlink without setting up your own Winlink RMS node, as long as you can make a consistent connection to a stations that *does* act as a Winlink node. Typically this means AXIP or VHF rather than HF, to avoid transmitting too much data at 300 bd.

• Locate an RMS node/SSID; typically these have a -10 SSID. The example below uses N5MDT-10 over AXIP, but some HF node examples available on Network 105 are W9LCF-10, N0HI-10, and KB5YZB-10.
• Create a BBS user called `RMS` in the BPQ web GUI
  • check box for BBS
  • check box for Poll RMS
  • leave other options as default
  • click Update
• Edit the forwarding config for user `RMS` in the BPQ web GUI
  • set TO as `RMS`
  • set TIMES as `0000-2359`
  • set Connect Script as `c NNNNN-10` where NNNNN-10 is the RMS node/SSID (more complex scripts can be used, see BPQ docs)
  • check Enable Forwarding
  • fill Interval as `3600`
  • uncheck Use B1 Protocol
  • check Use B2 Protocol
  • leave other options as default
  • click Update and Start Forwarding
• Edit each user who will receive Winlink messages
  • check Poll RMS
  • fill CMS Pass with the Winlink password for that user
    • (TODO fill in the command for a user to do this themselves)

To send email to an arbitary address in a terminal connection to the BBS, you can use `sp rms:matt@w1cdn.net` and replace the email address.

To send email to a Winlink user, you can use `sp w1CDN@winlink.org` but replace the callsign with that of the Winlink user you are contacting.

The Winlink connection will be polled periodically according to the forwarding interval and messages will be put into the regular BBS message queue for each user. Note that when messages are delivered this way, they are no longer available to download from Winlink servers using another method.
